YouTube Red

YouTube Red is Google’s master plan to take on rival subscription services already launched in the US but will soon to be available in the UK. But what is it?

The service currently runs at $9.99 per month in the US and allows you to access regular YouTube videos ad-free, while also providing some premium content produced by creators well-known to the YouTube audience such as PewDiePie and the Fine Bros. Your $10 per month will also give you access to YouTube Kids, YouTube Music, Google Play Music, and Twitch rival YouTube Gaming. YouTube will also give subscribers premium features such as the ability to save videos for offline viewing.

YouTube is also going in the right direction by attempting to stand out against the other major players in streaming video, such as Netflix and Hulu. There is also the possibility that if YouTube Red did take off Google would have very little issues negotiating deals for premium TV content to give the other services a run for their money.

Will you be tempted by YouTube Red?
